Glass

Glass is an important component of museum display cases that protects artefacts from dust, weather, and visitors while showcasing an artefact. ShreSha uses Laminated Safety Glass that holds it together when shattered. In the event of breakage, a thin polymer interlayer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) holds Laminated Safety Glass together.

Further, Laminated Safety Glass doesn’t fall and protects artefacts inside the showcase in case of an accident or a mishap.

ShreSha uses ‘extra-annealed’ laminated safety glass in its museum display cases for a clear view of the artefacts in a museum display case. We use a minimum framework in our museum display cases and join glass to glass using high-quality clear adhesives.

We do not recommend wood for museum display cases because wood requires cutting, finishing, joining, and glass fixing, which is highly skilled work and still may not guarantee a perfect museum case. Moreover, wood is prone to termites, rodents and other pests and is unsafe in a fire. Finally, wooden joints and openings are prone to deterioration from climate.

In addition to providing a safe and secure environment for artefacts, museum display cases also enhance the appearance of a museum exhibit. Choosing a well-designed and attractive case can create an informative and visually appealing display. If you are looking for a way to protect your artefacts and enhance the appearance of your museum exhibits, then museum display cases are a great option. By choosing the right museum case for your needs, you can ensure artefact preservation for future generations.
